Our programs are specifically designed to match needs of the swimmer
Beginner Series – 3 programs taking the swimmer from 25m to 1k, and then into the ocean.
Freestyle Stroke Correction, Expert Skills Clinics on Breathing, Catch and Kick, and Smart Speed program
Swim Bootcamps and SwimFit Squads for the more advanced event oriented swimmer.
Do I need to wear a swim cap?
Yes, we prefer swimmers to wear a swim cap; especially Beginners, as the pressure can help establish a calmer emotional state.
What is the water temperature?
All the pools we use are heated, but each pool varies.
Most pools are kept 25-28 degrees
In Winter, our NCIE Redfern location is heated to 30 deg
How will the swim coaches deliver the sessions?
Our technical programs, even advanced are coached from the water, and our coaches are ‘hands on’. We believe adults require accurate live demo’s and immediate hands on correction for a deeper learning experience.
What happens after I have paid and been enrolled onto a course?
You will receive an introduction email with any relevant pre program material; further emails include general information on
What to bring
Entry payment to facility
Where to meet
Location Parking and Waiver
What do I need to bring to my swim sessions?
We are equipment free; bring your swimmers, goggles and cap – you will receive a complimentary swim cap at the start of your program.
goggles that sit inside the eye socket (especially beginner swimmer)
over priced ‘racing’ style models
Do I need to pay pool entry fees on top of Swimlab Program fees?
Yes. Pools require swimmers to pay entry fee to facilities, this is not included in our Program fees.
*The only exception is Waverley College.
Where do I meet my swim coach or group?
All 1-1 sessions and programs are run on tight schedules due to lane space bookings.
Please be poolside, changed and ready to go 10 mins before scheduled start time. Your coach will either be in the water, or preparing for your session.
When travelling to the pool please consider traffic, parking, entry arrangements at the pool eg purchasing multi packs instead of weekly casual entry.
Will I get left behind if my ability is lower than the rest of the group?
SwimFit Squads have pre-req pace times to ensure the large group training runs smoothly. Lanes work as a group, on the swim set.
SwimFit Pace 400m in 9 mins or less (2:15 pace or quicker)
Starter Pace 400m in 11 mins or less (2:15-2:45 pace)
Swimmers who are slower than 2:45 pace, or unable to swim 400m are advised to consider a stroke correction program to improve technique and efficiency first.
Other Swim Programs
Swimlab programs are designed to work participants as a group, with everyone on the same page together.
What happens if I miss a session with a program?
We do our utmost to accommodate a missed class. But, if you know from the outset that you’re unable to make 2 dates of a program, we advise you to book a different set of dates.
If you’re injured, or able to be ‘in’ the water, we advise swimmers to observe the class from the poolside.
swimmers still receive all course content, video’s and relevant practice sessions of the missed sessions
swimmers will be advised of the relevant session in another group, and invited to ‘drop in’ to the class (this may not be in sequence with your current program); we are willing to accommodate one change free of charge, multiple sessions will be charged an admin fee per session
program transfers incur fees, and only permissible if there is space, and extenuating circumstances are presented

Every time I get in the water now I feel an immense sense of gratitude to Claire. Her swim programs are excellent and the TI technique has made swimming an immensely enjoyable experience. She is also fantastic at keeping in contact even when the programs have finished. She is always happy to answer questions and impart her knowledge. I cant recommend Claire enough.
Claire is a fantastic swim coach. She imparts an excellent knowledge of swimming technique and can explain herself clearly and succinctly. However, she doesn't let the technique overwhelm the session and you will get fit under her guidance! She has a friendly and approachable manner, and fosters a great group atmosphere. I credit Claire with giving me back my swim mojo, and a much improved stroke.

Claire is an experienced coach who brings fun, fitness and a true understanding of the mechanics of good swimming to her training. She has helped those who have never swum to be regular ocean swimmers, and at the other end trains serious competitors for their next race. Whatever swim journey you are on, you will benefit and gain from Swimlab..!
Claire is a fantastic TI coach with a keen eye to catch and remedy your stroke quirks. Her ongoing attention at the squads has transformed my technique and joy of swimming.
